1» Calendar: Buses, streetcars detour during King / Parliament construction today

The TTC is detouring buses operating along the 65 Parliament route and streetcars operating along the 503 Kingston Rd tripper, 504 King and 508 Lake Shore routes during a project to replace the streetcar tracks, switches and curves at King Street East and Parliament Street.The detours continue until Monday, October 4.Read Transit Toronto’s September 5 post for more information.

TTC contractors are visiting George Brown College’s St. James Campus and Ryerson University today to take photographs and issue identification cards for students.You can’t buy the TTC’s monthly post-secondary student Metropass for $99 unless you get the ID card. You can buy the pass at any TTC subway station.

The TTC and York Region Transit are rebuilding five bus loops just north of Steeles Avenue East in Markham during the next few weeks.The TTC is detouring various routes while work proceeds. For about four weeks, starting Tuesday, September 7, the City of Toronto is closing:King Street East, both lanes, between Power and Berkeley Streets andParliament Street, both lanes, between Adelaide and Front Streets Eastfor the next phase of a major City / TTC project to rebuild the roadway, install new sidewalks and curbs and replace the streetcar tracks and switches along Parliament Street between Gerrard and King Streets East this summer and fall.(The City has already closed the southbound lanes of Parliament between Dundas and King Streets East.) While the roadways are closed, City and TTC work crews will replace the switches, curves and tracks at the complicated intersection of King and Parliament, and replace sidewalks and curbs on King Street East.Work on the project
